A small place can feel expansive when its boundaries are clear, its storage works and its best view belongs to the room you use most.

Give each element more than one job.

A window seat might also hold blankets. A wide threshold can become a place to pause. A built-in bench can define a dining area without a wall. These choices work best when they follow a real routine, rather than trying to make every surface transform.

Borrow from the space beyond.

A view across a garden, a continuous floor finish or an opening aligned through two rooms can add a sense of depth. The aim is not to erase every boundary, but to choose which ones should feel quiet.

A generous room gives you what you need, and lets the rest fall away.

Keep a little space unassigned.

It is tempting to fill a small plan with solutions. Leave a few moments undecided: a patch of floor for a child to play, a wall for a future picture, enough room to move a chair. Flexibility is a form of space too.

A few considered choices can make a compact home feel more generous without adding a single room.

[7

post-22","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-everyday-spaces
["GET
