Where will hands touch the wall? Which edge will catch the afternoon sun? Where will a chair move across the floor every morning? These small questions reveal more than a perfectly arranged sample board.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Oak can darken and gain depth. Linen softens. Some stones develop a gentle patina, while others need more careful maintenance. None of these outcomes is automatically better; the right choice depends on how much change you welcome and how you want to care for your home.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Use fewer materials, more thoughtfully.<\/h2>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A short palette can make a room feel settled. Repeat a timber tone where spaces meet. Let one stone surface carry through a threshold. Small changes in texture will often do more than another competing color.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Character is what happens when a material is allowed to have a life.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Try a sample in the actual room.<\/h2>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Move the sample through the space over a day. Look at it in morning light, under artificial light and beside the things you already own. Ask the supplier about cleaning, repair and refinishing.
