An architecture and interiors theme with expressive editorial layouts and native WordPress block editing.

== Description ==
Sovelta includes 14 native block patterns, four coherent color palettes, four system-font pairings and an optional bundled Manrope/Vollkorn pairing, a larger reading scale, three header and footer arrangements, individual page and project templates, optional sticky navigation, search, social links, gallery navigation, image comparison, readable journals, archives and comments. All theme assets load locally. The theme runs independently with standard WordPress pages, posts, search, comments, navigation and native blocks. It does not register custom content types, blocks, shortcodes or contact forms.

== Installation ==
1. In Appearance → Themes → Add New → Upload Theme, upload sovelta-1.10.2.zip and activate.
2. Create a page, open the block inserter → Patterns → Sovelta, and choose a layout.
3. Set your homepage in Settings → Reading. Use Appearance → Website design. Appearance → Customize previews choices before publishing. Set menus and logo with WordPress controls.
4. Replace concept imagery and copy with your own material. Publish only after reviewing your content and links.

Activation never creates or publishes pages, imports media, changes menus or replaces your homepage. Regular pages and posts do not need a companion plugin.

== Updating ==
Back up your files and database and test the 1.10.2 ZIP on staging. Sovelta uses a new theme folder. For an existing Forma Studio website, update the companion Core plugin to Sovelta Core 1.10.2 before activating Sovelta so it can preserve your appearance settings, logo and menu assignments when switching directly from Forma Studio. Existing Sovelta settings are never replaced by this migration. Keep the old theme installed until you have reviewed the result. A child theme needs a deliberate update of its Template header to sovelta; its own settings remain separate. For later Sovelta releases, use WordPress theme replacement. The theme has no separate updater or remote service.

If you use the theme independently, export your design from Appearance → Website design before switching and import that file after activating Sovelta. Native WordPress activation can create a new empty theme-settings array before this theme loads; Sovelta deliberately does not overwrite an existing array. Design exports exclude logos, menus, native Additional CSS and extension settings. Before a standalone switch, also save any Additional CSS separately; after activation, restore it in WordPress and review the logo and menu assignments. Previously exported Forma Studio design files remain supported.

== Design and editing ==
The theme is a classic hybrid theme with native block editing and theme.json, not a Full Site Editing theme. Header, footer, typography and site-wide presentation are controlled in Website design or the Customizer. The native WordPress settings form lives under Appearance → Website design, with previews in Appearance → Customize. Settings are stored together in WordPress’s single theme_mods_sovelta option (or the corresponding active child-theme array); saving the design leaves logo, menu and extension keys intact. Pages and optional projects can override their layout in the editor Template setting. Native patterns contain normal editable blocks; the journal pattern updates from published posts automatically. Static image cards remain independently editable.

The design settings page can export/import validated JSON containing only its presentation preferences. Imports never run code or create content. Saving, importing or resetting there keeps one previous design for restoration. Customizer changes are not added to that one-step history. Menu assignments, logos, media, content and accounts are excluded from settings exports. Contact and social destinations should be reviewed when moving settings between sites.

Four semantic palettes stay synchronized between the editor and website; the accent is adjusted for text contrast against page and panel surfaces. Authors can still choose arbitrary block colors, so review your own content for readability. The four system-font choices use local device fonts; their precise appearance varies by platform. The optional Manrope/Vollkorn choice loads bundled WOFF2 files from your own site, with font-display: swap and no external font service. Review the characters used by your content when choosing a font.

Project featured images and native image links open a local preview with previous/next controls, image count, arrow keys, Home/End and Escape. On touch devices horizontal swipes move between images. The comparison pattern is a presentation enhancement of two native images: without JavaScript they appear side by side; with JavaScript a keyboard-operated slider reveals the two views. Both descriptions remain available.

== Privacy ==
The theme does not collect visitor data, contact external services or add tracking. Gallery previews, comparison sliders, settings file reading and the mobile menu run locally without storing or sending choices. Comments and search use WordPress facilities. Password-protected project facts, covers and custom excerpts remain hidden until WordPress accepts the project password. Project titles remain visible. Uploaded media URLs are not independently access-controlled by the theme; use private media storage for confidential files.

== Keyboard access ==
The first theme link skips to the main content and moves keyboard focus there. Menus, search, gallery controls, comparison sliders, comments and design settings use keyboard-operable controls with visible focus indicators. Reduced-motion preferences are respected. Without JavaScript, native navigation and images remain available. Review authored block colors, text alternatives and embedded content for accessibility. This release does not claim the accessibility-ready tag or a completed accessibility certification.
